Why did you decide to create the MetaSano Program?

Well, after trying to lose weight for 20 years and always failing in this process, I also discovered a chronic kidney disease that would take me a few years to need hemodialysis.

I always failed in the weight-loss process mainly because I gained weight later, where I followed a diet or weight-loss recipe, lost weight, but then gained it all again. The big challenge to lose weight is to re-educate yourself about food and follow a healthy routine. It sounds simple, but I never did, or rather, for the period of the diet, whether it was a week, 21 days, or even a month. After this period I gained weight again.

That’s when I decided to study the topic in depth and in 1 year I created a healthy weight loss method that gave me results. I lost 80 lbs and stabilized my kidney problem. The best part was that I lost weight without suffering, eating well with quality and especially without gaining weight again. Finally, today I have a healthy habit where I can’t even imagine how I used to be. My life´s quality has increased a lot.

After losing weight and creating a healthy weight loss method I got deeper into the subject, I fell in love with healthy habits, I am currently specializing in Health Coach by the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in New York which is a world reference in the area.

My idea is to share all this knowledge and help people like me, who have always tried to create a healthy habit but for various reasons were not able to. I really want to show that yes, it’s possible, especially taking small steps, without doing anything radical and something that becomes a habit that everyone cultivates forever.

How was this process?

The process to lose 80 lbs started 1 year ago. I´m not just lost weight, I also recovery my kidney as well.

Before that, I tried a lot of diets, signed up several times at the gym, and nothing about losing weight. In fact, I even lost weight according to the diet. If it was a 21-day diet I followed it and lost weight, but then everything came back and I got fat again.

To make matters worse 4 years ago I discovered an autoimmune disease that attacked my kidney. The doctor gave me around 10 years to need hemodialysis. I had a biopsy, treatments, I lost about 20 lbs at the time, after that I had gained only a few more years…probably instead of 10 years now my expectation for hemodialysis would be in 15 years. To get worse, looking at the life expectancy data for those who have IGA (an autoimmune disease that attacks my kidneys) in grade 3a evolving quickly as was my case, life expectancy was around 10 years on average.

At first I didn’t care because I was sure that medicine in 10 years would be much better. I did a new exam that showed my creatinine level was getting worst. Creatine measures the filtration of the kidney, which was in stage 3a, got worse quickly and went to stage 3b in a short time. Stage 4 is pre hemodialysis.

I decided to made some experiment with my body. I decided to do things step by step. I changed my diet, started to do light exercises. In the past 1 year, I lost 80 lbs, but the biggest feat was to decrease from 8 daily medications to just 1, my kidney regressed to stage 2 taken as normal.

The first health professional who saw the difference between my exam 1 year ago and the current one told me to repeat it again, because the doctor  was sure that it was wrong. After taking 3 new exams in different laboratories, even in different states, I can say that I really revert my condition.

I heard from a doctor that cases like mine are commonly seen in medical literature, but not in everyday life.

To get an idea my proteinuria (losing protein in the urine) was 7728 mg/24 hours and normal at rest it is between 50 and 80mg/24h.

Looking back I can say that in addition to losing weight, the process is simpler than I imagined and that I didn’t need to have done the crazy diets I’ve done several times.

Bio-individuality is the idea that each person has unique needs that change throughout life.

No diet or lifestyle works equally for two people. Furthermore, each person has their own habits, lifestyle and emotional aspects.

 

What is the MetaSano weight loss program?

The MetaSano weight loss program has as its central structure the method that I applied in my own weight loss, where the main focus is on changing habits in a sustainable way over time. In addition to the physical transformation, there is a personal transformation of each one.

I tried and tested MetaSano slimming method so I´m sure that works in practice, and there are innovations to help even more like AI. Monitoring is done through an application with artificial intelligence where the person’s evolution is monitored week by week.

How long is the Weight Loss Program?

The weight loss program will last for 1 year, without anything radical, respecting the needds of each one, including encouraging at times to celebrate the results and also to enjoy the holidays.

The weight loss method consists of activities to develop a healthy habit according to the profile and lifestyle of each person.

The main point of the method to lose weight is that it counts that you will not necessarily carry out activities correctly every week, like myself, it happened several times that I didn’t follow the program in a given week, gain some weight, and in the following week perform activities that irrigated outstanding. During the period of a year we have time for weeks where this will happen, and that is normal. Another example is that we also have time for you to enjoy holidays.

Remember, it’s a weight-loss program for change your life, where you should change your habits, but the idea is that each person continues to do things they like, that the impact on life is only positive.

My idea with the MetaSano project is not to create a challenge to lose weight, but to help people lose weight for good way with a weight-loss method that works, based on how my process was.

There were several ideas and tests that I did with myself along the way, but in the end they helped me to lose weight and improve my health.

This entire weight loss process is available in a structured way so that you can also achieve your results.

In addition, I am studying Health Coach at the IIN, learning new things, to help everyone even more in this difficult but not impossible stage.

The big key is to go small. It usually takes us years to gain weight or get a disease from bad habits. It’s not just a moment that you’ll recover all this time.
